Inkwharf

What everyone else takes

Six ways to sell a book that’s already written, and what each costs at $500, $2,000 and $5,000 a month in sales. The rate beside each is what the platform actually keeps from a $9.99 book, fixed fees included. That’s not always the number they advertise.

Three of them collect your readers’ money and pass some of it back. One doesn’t handle the sale at all, which is why it needs a shop bolted to it. The last two are general stores that charge rent instead of a percentage and have never heard of an EPUB. Inkwharf never receives the money either: the charge is created on your own Stripe account, so no plan here takes a percentage and there’s no payout to wait for. Every page below also names the volume at which the other one is genuinely cheaper, because a comparison that never loses a round is an advert.

Do the sum on your own numbers

The tables on these pages use three round volumes. Put in your own and it’ll show what a percentage costs you a year, and the point where a flat fee overtakes it.
